Incline Software Releases PAFWiz 2.0

Salt Lake City, Utah (May 10, 2007) – Incline Software, LC, a producer of Windows®-based Family Tree software products, announced today that a new version of its PAFWiz was recently released. This new version 2.0 provides several important new capabilities.

PAFWiz is an enhancement utility to supplement Personal Ancestral File® (PAF) version 5. Users of PAF 5 (which is based on an older version of Incline Software’s Ancestral Quest™) can benefit from a huge list of additional capabilities which are not available in PAF.

Major New Features

True PAF 5 Compatibility. In 1999, Incline Software helped the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) create their first Windows version of Personal Ancestral File® (PAF), by giving the LDS Church a copy of the Ancestral Quest source code. With the advent of PAF 5, the LDS Church changed PAF’s database, making older versions of PAF and other PAF utilities incompatible with it. The first version of PAFWiz (released in 2003) could open a PAF 5 database to create reports and generate web pages. The new version 2.0 of PAFWiz can now directly edit a PAF 5 database, and scores of additional capabilities have been made available to help a PAF user work with a PAF 5 database.

To Do Lists/Research Manager. Keep track of research efforts and requirements.

Database Compare and Merge. Compatible databases (including GEDCOM files and PAF files) can be compared with a main PAF 5 database. Similarities and differences can be discovered. Then selected new individuals, family lines, or changes can be imported and merged. This revolutionary new feature helps in coordinating research efforts in ways that eliminate the tedium of any past methods.

Publish a Family Book. PAFWiz now allows a user to print out any combination of many of its reports under an umbrella of a master Table of Contents and master Index. Reports from PAFWiz (such as Pedigree Charts, Fan Charts, Family Group Records, Ancestry Charts, Descendant Charts, Scrapbook Pages, narrative reports and more) can be supplemented with other documents and narratives in a way that allows the user to create a family book from their recorded data in a form ready to be published.

Other Features

Individual Summary View. All of the information about an individual can be viewed on one screen. This screen can be used as a launch-point to edit any data about the individual, or to navigate to other individuals.

Improved Individual Merge. In PAF 5, the user can only control certain pieces of data during the merge process. Now any piece of data can be selected or discarded, and most data from both records can be preserved.

Notes.

· Spell Check Notes.

· Global Search and Replace in Notes

Dropline Descendants Chart. A traditional English style horizontal descendants chart is now available. Family lines and individuals can be specifically excluded to make the chart show just the individuals desired.

Confidentiality. Parents, children and spouses can now be flagged as confidential, so that they will not appear on reports and in GEDCOM files. Family secrets can now be recorded, yet kept confidential.

Sources.

· Sort the list of sources by author as well as title, making sources easier to find.

· Sources can now be categorized, so that only sources matching a specified category will be displayed in the list of sources, making a source much easier to locate.

· Merge any Source.

· Merge Repositories

· Re-order sources for an event

· Create a Master Source for a GEDCOM import

LDS Features. A new IGI search and merge screen allows for more efficient reconciling of LDS ordinance information from the online IGI.

Find Women by Married Name. A new option in the Name List allows sorting of women by their spouses surname, so they can be located based on their married name.

DNA. DNA test results can be stored.

Marriage Search Screen. In addition to sorting by record number, marriages can now be sorted by name of husband or wife, making it much more natural to locate a couple.

Place Maps. Click on a place name to map the name on an Internet mapping service.

Custom IDs. In addition to Ahnentafel numbering systems, IDs can now be generated using the Henry and Dollarhide systems.

Back/Forward Buttons. Going back to an individual that was recently worked on is much easier with the addition of these browser like buttons.
