Collaboration Support Files

Information for AQ Users Who are Upgrading

The Collaboration Support for Ancestral Quest has not been updated since early in 2003. If you are upgrading your Ancestral Quest from an earlier version which had the Collaboration feature, or even an earlier build of the current version, there is a good chance that you do NOT need to download and install the Collaboration Support files again. It doesn’t hurt to download and reinstall, but you won’t gain anything, so we’re trying to save you a step.

There are two ways to get to the page on our site that allows you to download the program files for AQ:

1)      Within AQ, go to the “Internet” menu, then click on “Check for Latest AQ Release”. (Or, AQ may ask if you want to check when you first start the program. If you do, you will also get this result.) In this case AQ sends information to this site with information about which version of AQ and which version of Collaboration is installed on your computer. If your version is old, this site will accurately let you know that your Collaboration Support is out of date. If you are using Collaboration, and are having any trouble, you should then download the latest Collaboration Support files. If you have the latest Collaboration Support already installed, you will not be presented with an option to download the Collaboration Support files.

2)      If you are purchasing the upgrade and following the link provided to download the program, or you followed the link to download it first in trial mode, this site will not be able to tell what version of AQ or Collaboration Support is installed on your computer. You will therefore be presented with the option of downloading these files, even if you do not need to. If you would like to verify whether you need to download the Collaboration Support files, follow the procedure in step (1) above to get this verification.
